Are you a bookkeeper providing services for your clients but are not a BAS Agent? You may be studying the Cert IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping course or have completed and now need to gain the 1,000 or 1,400 hours of experience.
Alternatively you may not want to complete the Cert IV course, but want to be able to meet the needs of your clients, while working within the compliance requirements of the Australian taxation legislation. Bookkeepers who are not BAS Agents need to have their work supervised by a registered BAS or Tax Agent to meet the requirements set by the Tax Practitioners Board (tpb.gov.au). Failure to do so can result in hefty penalties. We are here to help.
We will guide you and check the work you do on your client’s files to ensure it is completed at the same level that we would as a registered BAS agent. This guidance will form part of your ‘relevant experience’ if you are applying to become a BAS Agent. The work you have completed to get the information ready to review and lodge by a BAS Agent also forms part of the hours of experience.
