I regularly take on new clients' Xero files and encounter a mess left behind by either the client, bookkeeper or accountant. The information is often out of date and / or full of inaccuracies.
Clients are usually shocked to discover that the accounting professional that they trusted to deliver accurate information did not actually fully understand what they were doing. Some have also complained about the amount of money they have already paid, only to have to pay again to have the work cleaned up.
Many accounting professionals believe what they are doing is correct and do not realise that there are gaps in their knowledge. Often they don’t realise they may be using inefficient methods to achieve the outcomes. If they are not a member of one of the professional associations they may also be missing out on changes to compliance requirements in this ever changing, compliance-driven landscape.

For many years I worked as an employee bookkeeper, then solo contractor then progressed to owning a Bookkeeping business with 8 staff and over 150 clients.
From 2012 - 13 I worked for Xero as an Account Manager helping a myriad of bookkeepers and accountants transition to, and learn to love their software. From 2014 - 2020 I delivered online and face-to-face training for Xero including the Xero Certification course, Payroll training, GST in Xero and more.

Countless hours of delivering Xero training provided me with expert knowledge of the workings of the software instilling in me a passion for help bookkeepers and accounting professionals to gain the best-practice technical skills to thrive in the industry, and provide accurate data to their clients.
